The laboratory is located in the premises of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana and represents an innovative center where advanced technologies, expertise and passion for development in the world of 3D metal printing come together.
SiEVA 3D LAB boasts top-notch equipment, which enables the development and production of extremely complex and functional final products for serial production as well as for prototyping purposes.
The laboratory is equipped with the latest generation of SLM printer EOS M290, which enables accurate and reliable production of three-dimensional metal components, maximum print dimensions of 250 x 250 x 320 mm.
Selective laser melting (SLM) is a method of additive technology (AM), which represents a new way of manufacturing machine or structural elements. It enables the production of complex geometries that cannot be produced by traditional machining processes.
The aforementioned 3D printing technology allows us to accurately and innovatively manufacture metal components for various industrial and engineering purposes in the field of aviation, automotive industry, medicine, toolmaking, as well as for the production of functional prototype pieces.
Selective laser remelting can process a variety of alloys, allowing prototypes to be functional. Because the components are built layer by layer, it is possible to create complex freeform geometries that could not be produced using traditional machining processes.
